Never pile construction waste in yard!

Take it from me i learned this lesson the hard way when I thought it would be a good idea to keep a neat pile of construction waste piled in the back yard of on of my properties until I could get a dumpster.  The trouble that it caused me was not worth having the waste out of my way.  It is good to remember that the investment property that you bought was probably the worst house in a good neighborhood. With that comes all the years of frustration that the neighbors had with the previous family. When you a remodeling a house it is easy to accumulate a large amount of yard waste before trash day or your have enough to get a dumpster.

To avoid problems and complaint calls to the city, keep your waste out of sight. Most of the properties that I have bought come with a long history of complaints to city health inspectors. If neighbors start to see anything accumulate they may assume that it is starting again. I keep the waste in a garage (if available), basement, or room in the house until it can be disposed of properly. By fixing up the property you are doing a good thing for the neighborhood and it is good to always keep a good outward appearance.
